Chimaeron
This boss is probably the roughest out of the 3 bosses past Magmaw and Omnotron Defense System. This fight will test the the quickness and decision making of your healers.

Abilities

Finkle's Mixture - Damage taken while above 10k health cannot reduce your health below 1 hp. Activated by talking to the caged gnome behind Chimaeron and required to defeat the encounter

Chimaeron - Phase 1 - 100% to 20%

Caustic Slime - Deals 280000 Nature damage and reduces chance to hit for a short amount of time for all enemies in the area of effect. The damage is split between all players within 6 yards

Massacre - Heavy damage aoe, effects the entire raid

Feud - Chimaerons heads fight with eachother and stops attacking the tank during the duration.

Double Attack - Chimaeron strikes twice on his next attack.

Break - Chimaeron breaks through his target's defenses increasing Physical damage taken by 25% for 1 minute. Stacking debuff.

Chimaeron - Phase 2 - 20% to 0%

Mortality - Chimaeron goes immune to Taunt effects, reduces healing to everyone by 99%, but increases the damage he takes by 20%.

Double Attack - Chimaeron strikes twice on his next attack.

Strategy
This fight is all about understanding the mechanics of the fight. If your raid does not understand how it works you will not get a kill. Understand that wiping constantly on this fight not far into the fight is not understanding the mechanics and actively countering them, do not be discouraged if you wipe a couple times a few seconds into the fight. This fight will test your tanks and your healers.

1a. This fight requires two tanks. Assign the tank with the most mitigation/health to be the offtank, this is the key. The main tank will be tanking Chimaeron the majority of the fight. The off tank will only taunt when Chimaeron gains double strike, which will hit twice on his next attack. The off-tank eats the double attack, and the main tank taunts back immediately after.

1b. Understanding the tank mechanics: With Finkle's bot in play, the main tank will never die as long as he is healed over 10k HP every 5 seconds. Chimaerons melee attacks on the tank are very slow and are on a 5 second timer so as long as the main tank is over 10k before every melee swing he only be reduced to 1hp and not die. The vicious synergy between Break and Double attack is where the offtank comes into play. Break is a debuff that is put on the main tank that increases physical damage done to the tank BUT since every hit will reduce the main tank to only 1hp this is ignorable and not necessary for the main tank to drop his stacks. It is not possible to have a taunt rotation between tanks dropping their stacks off due to the debuff lasting 1 minute and double attack happening more than once within a minute. Once Chimaeron gains the Double Attack buff, he will attack twice in quick succession and if he Double Attacks the Main tank who is stacked with the Break Debuff, he will be reduced by the first attack to 1hp regardless of how much hit points he has at the moment and the second attack will kill him. The offtank will not have stacks of Break, allowing him to take the first hit of the Double Attack leaving him over 10k HP, the second hit will reduce him to 1HP and the main tank must taunt back immediately, so the offtank does not acquire stacks of the Break debuff.

2a. Raid positioning - There are technically two phases within phase one. While the boss is tankable and not feuding, the raid must spread out so Caustic Slime does not hit more than 2 people at any given time. Being hit by Caustic Slime reduces your chance to hit and also gives healers more people to heal which is impossible in the amount of time between Caustic Slime Attacks and Massacre. During the tankable phase everyone spreads out 6+ yards apart. During the Feud, Finkle's bot goes offline so the raid must stack, and the healers must top off the raid and AOE heal as much as possible as well as use defensive cooldowns.

2b. Understanding Raid Positioning - The key to this fight is Finkle's bot. During the encounter the bot occaisonally goes offline, this happens during Feud. How this effects the raid is that all abilities that will one shot you, will kill you while the bot is offline. Caustic Slime is a one shot ability and Massacre is a high damage ability. We spread during the tankable phase due to Finkle's bot countering the mechanic of Caustic Slime (Deals 280000 damage, damage is split between all enemies within 6 yards of impact), instead of instantly killing us, it will just reduce us to 1hp if we are above 10k hp. Finkle's bot goes offline during feud, so our safety net is gone and we must all stack, including the tanks, to negate this damage and spread it throughout the raid, making it healable. As soon as Feud is over and the bot is back online we spread out again.

3a. Healing - The key to this fight is understanding how to heal this fight, it is far from the traditional raid encounter - from the healing perspective. Understand what abilities you have as your healer class and when to use them. Your fastest strongest heal that is able to heal 10k+ hp in one cast will be the key to this fight. During Phase one two people at a time get hit by Caustic Slime, reducing them to 1hp. Those two people need to be healed above 10kHP and no more by the next round of Caustic Slimes or Massacre or they will die. The idea is not to spam heals, but to heal efficiently to counter the mechanics of this fight. After Caustic Slime immediately heal those effected over 10k hp. As long as everyone (minus the offtank) is healed above 10k hp, there is nothing else to heal. The offtank must always be topped off due to the Double Attack Mechanic. Your single target fast heals will be used for caustic slimes up until the Massacre (basically reduces the whole raid to 1hp during tankable phase), your aoe heals are then used AFTER the massacre to take everyone above 10k hp before the next round of Caustic Slime hits. Large AOE healing and Cooldowns are used during the stacking phase (Feud).

3b. Understanding the healing of this encounter - The key to this fight is understanding the mechanics, utilizing your spells, and using them at the correct times. During the tankable phase you have some breathing room between the Caustic Slimes, where it gets hairy is the Caustic Slime right before a Massacre which happen in quick succession. The last two people who get hit with Caustic Slime will be reduced to 1hp and must be healed over 10k HP within 2 seconds so healing assignments and organization will help. After the Massacre, mostly everyone in the raid will be reduced to 1hp and require raid healing above 10k hp, understand that you have time between the last Massacre and the next round of Caustic Slimes so there is no hurry to spam your biggest expensive heals as fast as possible after every Massacre, a quick organized combo of raid heals between your healers during this time will top everyone over 10k hp before the next Caustic Slime round. Use heavy aoe heals/cooldowns for the stacking (Feud) phase as it will most likely happen after a Massacre and everyone will need to be stacked and topped off asap before the raid starts taking damage.

4. Once the boss starts getting near 20% your best bet here is to have your tank pop all his defensive cooldowns (Ideally avoidance+ Trinkets would be most beneficial for this fight) and pop bloodlust. This is a burn phase, no healing can be done due to the Mortality Debuff so EVERYONE must dps, including healers. At most a non tank will survive 2-3 hits, resulting in about 5-15 seconds of being targeted for each person in the raid. Chimaeron takes 20% increased damage but your raid will slowly die one by one, he no longer cast any AOE or abilities, just chases his top aggro and Melees them until dead. Watch your threat meter and know whos next on the list if the current target dies so you can kite him and run away from his next target to give the raid more time to down him.

Tips

- Avoidance is extremely good for this fight as the main tank stamina is next to useless, only the offtank is required to have a large health pool, he can have 0% avoidance if he wanted.

- Healers might have to take healing spells they never use out of their spellbooks and spec differently to be able to heal people above 10k hp quickly. (Cough Cough, Regrowth specd into Nature's Bounty and Regrowth Glyphed)

- Make use of immunity effects such as Ice Block, Bubble, and Feign Death to reset Chimaerons path below the 20% range

- Time your cooldowns for the burn phase, it is the most important phase.
